In Vernon, Twila Dainard hopes to increase the number of equal relationship house shares, in the age group of 55+. (ie. not a person coming into a person's home to care for or help another in exchange for free or lower rent), but instead, forward planning, individuals that wish to put in the time to form lasting relationships so th at they have a supportive peer group to age in place with. This improves the standard of housing for a large number of people that simply have not been able to keep up with the ever increasing costs of housing, and because other costs like internet, t.v., utilities, water/garbage etc. are shared by all, each participating person is able to afford full services at a fraction of the cost. This is also NOT a situation where any organization places a person, but rather a situation where people make the effort and choose the people and the place they wish to share with and in.
